Who are we?

The contribution of “Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique” (INRAE; French Research National Institute for agriculture, food and environment) to EvaPig® originates from researchers positioned at the Unit named UMR PEGASE based in the research center of Britanny-Normandy. The UMR PEGASE is conducting research programs on animal biology and ivestock production with the ultimate purpose of improving sustainability and competitiveness of livestock farming with two major models, swine and dairy cows.

The AFZ (Association Française de Zootechnie) is a French association of animal production specialists from industry, trade organisations, research, education and public administration. Its mission is to help with the dissemination and application of knowledge related to farm animals, and to participate in the public debates concerning animal productions. It organises every year one or several conferences dedicated to current issues and operates the French Feed Database, a national information centre about feeds.

METEX ANIMAL NUTRITION is the leading European producer of lysine, threonine and tryptophan. Since its creation, METEX ANIMAL NUTRITION has been constantly involved in an active policy of innovation. A permanent program of research and collaboration is run with various Institutes, Universities and professionals from the animal production sector, everywhere in Europe and also around the world. Some of this research has also contributed towards building and developing modern systems for formulating feeds, such as the ideal protein, the standardized ileal digestibility of amino acids and the net energy concepts.
